Waterford Connect
Waterford Connect is a mass notification system that Waterford Township utilizes to keep you informed about critical and important events within the community.
Waterford Connect will be used to disseminate important messages regarding the safety or welfare of the community. Examples would include severe weather warnings and updates, lost children or seniors, water service emergencies and hazardous situations that impact safety, property or welfare of our citizens. This service allows Township officials to send out emergency notifications by phone or other contact methods to thousands of residents within minutes.
In addition to notifications related to emergency situations, residents, businesses and other stakeholders can also choose to
opt-in to receive time-sensitive non-emergency notifications about community events, activities and important updates. Those who opt-in to receive non-emergency messages may
choose whether to receive messages by phone, email, alphanumeric pager, text messaging, or any combination thereof. Those who choose to opt-in can do so by setting up a login at the Waterford Connect portal, which can be reached by clicking the "BlackBoard Connect" logo at the bottom of this page.
In addition to the opt-in for non-emergency messages, setting up a login at the Waterford Connect portal can also enhance the effectiveness of
emergency notification as well. By signing up at the portal, recipients can specify
additional contact information such as mobile phone numbers, work phone numbers, TTY, text messaging and email addresses which might not be in the initial contact database.
The opt-in for non-emergency messages is completely optional: recipients can sign up at the portal in order to provide additional contact information for the purpose of emergency notification without necessarily opting-in to non-emergency messages.
