The 51st District Court has two judges: Richard D. Kuhn, Jr. and Jodi Debbrecht Switalski and a full support staff including a Court Administrator and five Department Supervisors.  Additionally, Magistrates assist the Judges on Wednesday afternoons with afterhours search warrant requests.

The Court is separated into four primary divisions including:
Traffic: processes citations written by police departments.
Civil: handles cases that involve money or damage claims and landlord/tenant disputes.
Criminal: processes misdemeanor and felony criminal law violations.
Probation: responsible for supervision of probationers, conducting pre-sentence investigations, alcohol assessments and probation violation hearings.
