The library accepts donations of used books. At the present time donations are collected by the Friends of the Library on the second Saturday of each month, from 10am to 1pm in our Community Room.
NOTE: DUE TO THE LIBRARY CLOSURE ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2017, IN HONOR OF VETERANS DAY THERE WILL BE NO DONATION DROP-OFF EVENT THIS MONTH. The next donation drop-off day is Saturday, December 9, 2017.
Items can be dropped off in the library's Community Room on the second Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is a 4 box (or bag) limit unless pre-approval has been given. Please call Lori Hosler at 248-515-3977 if you exceed the limit. Due to space limitations, some drop-off dates may be cancelled. Please call 248-674-4831 to confirm dates and times.
While we appreciate your generosity, there are some items that we do not accept. These include:
Magazines (including National Geographic)
Musty or moldy items
Reader's Digest condensed books
You can obtain a receipt for number of books you donate for tax purposes. For a receipt, please count the number of hardcover and soft cover books being donated prior to arriving at the monthly Donation Drop-off event.
Friends of the Library Book Sale
If the library cannot use a donated item in our collection, it might be sold in one of the Friends of the Library book sales. In any event, your donations benefit the library, and we thank you for thinking of us.
