Choosing a Waste Hauler Each household or business is responsible for contracting services as desired. The Township does not have a sanitation department, nor do we utilize tax money to pay for this service. All programs are run by private companies who are not endorsed or controlled by Waterford Township.
Most waste haulers have a recycling component as part of their service. Contact your waste hauler for items collected, how to prepare them and collection schedules.
Compost Most waste haulers offer seasonal composting as part of their service. Contact your waste hauler for more information. In addition, Bedrock Express, does offer a drop off service for yard waste. Contact them for more information.
On the 1st Saturday of each month, a container is located in front of Township Hall for the collection of corrugated cardboard, magazines, and paper board (e.g. cereal boxes, toothpaste boxes, generally most food and personal product packaging. Must be free of food debris and dry.) Collection is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.. If an official holiday falls on the 1st Saturday of the month, collection will not occur and will resume according to the established schedule. Residents only. No commercial haulers allowed.
Recreation Center Building Recycling
The Recreation Center Building at 5640 Williams Lake Road has a recycle bin in its parking lot to collect newspapers, magazines, catalogs, office paper, shredded paper (bagged) and junk mail. Proceeds are based on paper weight collected per month and allotted to the Recreation Center Building Enhancement Fund for the Golden Age Club.
