Welcome to Waterford Township, Michigan, a great place to live, work and visit! Waterford was established in 1834 and is centrally located in Oakland County with a population of 71,707.  It’s the fifth largest Township out of 1,240 in Michigan. We are a “Lakeland Paradise,” with 34 lakes and have a lot to offer residents, businesses and visitors alike.

Library Program Helps Local Hunger Organizations

Team up with the Library to help our hungry neighbors in need. Once again we are partnering with Gleaners Community Food Bank and other TLN libraries to collected non-perishable food items to help feed hungry children, seniors, and families in our community. We will forgive $1 in fines for each item donated, up to $10, per day. Township Roads - Potholes & Snow Removal

Did you know? Waterford Township does not oversee the maintenance of the roads within the Township. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC). This includes - but is not limited to - snow plowing, filling pot holes and other road repairs.
